English Speaking Club Constitution (draft)
English Speaking Club (ESC) of An Giang University was established many years ago. With the enthusaistic contribution of teachers and students, ESC becomes more and more popular and meets more interests and expectations of the participants. The appearance and the existence of ESC depends on the need of English learners who want to have a place to practice English and to relax after studying time.
Learning English requires students to practice as much as possible. The activities in classes are really useful but not enough fot students to develop the skills related to daily communication in real life. Going to ESC not only helps students speak English well but also creates a chance for them to show and to enlarge their knolwedge in games, contests and discussion. In general, the activities in ESC bring to students practical lessons that sometimes, they cannot find in their classes. Therefore, we can conclude that ESC puts the students' benefits on the top. In other words, ESC always wants every participant to get more and more benefits for themselves and when some of them feel unsatisfied about something in ESC, it's time ESC thinks about itself and makes changes if needed.
Running a long time, passing through heavy trials, ESC stills keeps its characteristics. The quality of ESC is combining many activities at once but still being effective and successful in bringing students useful knowledge and joyful laughing.
ESC is held twice a month. Each club has 4 main parts: communication, games, discussion and developing creativity. In the communication part, students learn many different structures used in daily communication, for example, making friends, asking for direction, refusing something, speaking in public place, etc. Most importantly, students have to practice right after learning so they can remember things internally without having to write into their notebooks. Also, students can communicate with foreigners at ESC. Games are more interesting and noisier. There are usually 2 games in each ESC. This is a chance for students to build their confidence, to show their level of knowledge and to gain gifts. The atmosphere becomes more stressful and competitive in the discussion part. People discuss in groups and they can talk about topics that interest them in English. Then some volunteers will present their ideas. The last activity includes decorating, drawing, making handicrafts, etc. It's very impressive because students can throw their stress away and turn into a space of art where they can put their feeling, thinking and passion into their works.
In conclusion, ESC is for various subjects so its activities become more various and suitable to most of the participants. Most importantly, it is an interesting destination for those who want to practice English, to speak English in a comfortable atmosphere. Probably, ESC is not a perfect one but it is an effective solution for students to get advanced in learning English and to mis with community life.

The mission of ESC:
* One of the problems of English learner is that they can study reading, writing and grammar very well, but they can not speak and listen effectively. Thus, the biggest intention of holding ESC is to create the English Community for English learners. That means we provide the participants with chances to improve their speaking and listening skill. * Moreover, ESC is also considered as one of the ways of relaxing for the participants after their hard – working days because they can take part in many funny games during the time when ESC is held. * Besides, we also provide them some of grammatical points that make them confused. Furthermore, some cultural points of some nations all over the world are also brought into the ESC. By this way, the participants can communicate with the foreigners more effectively thanks to knowing other countries’ cultures.
Some other ideas about holding ESC:
* Adding handicraft activities for ESC. * Topic with “cues” (sub – topics). * Writing contest (Write the feelings about ESC and how to make it better in the future as well). * More discussions (situation solving, debating…). * Gifts for the students who have gone to all of ESC in a semester. * Share about 80% of newsletters’ interest with the classes in charge of each ESC to encourage them. * Choose more attractive names for the topics. * Make ESC more practical so that students can bring a little new knowledge to home not only go for fun.
